Tuesday’s Hit

will.i.am - “Fall Down” featuring Miley Cyrus

Fall Down

Someone needs to stop me! This is my third will.i.am song in less than three months.

The song sounds like “Die Young,” but you can’t hold that against will.i.am since the track is partly produced by Dr. Luke. However, the Mi Cy feature makes everything better. (P.S. She needs to be release an album soon.)

I understand that #willpower is available to stream on YouTube this week, but I’m going to wait until next week to listen to it. And if the first three singles are any indication of how the album will be, I may love it!

Listen to “Fall Down” or, um, fall down.

Monday’s Hit

PSY - “Gentleman”

Gentleman

“Gentleman” is the highly anticipated follow-up to the worldwide smash, “Gangnam Style.” Many people, including myself, wondered if PSY could have another hit, but when you look at the number of views “Gentleman” has received since April 13—over 82,000,000—PSY may prove to the world that he is no one-hit wonder.

The tune is annoyingly catchy, and I may or may not dance around my apartment singing, “I’m a mother father gentleman.” Ha!

Ride the wave and enjoy “Gentleman!”

Thursday’s Hit

Nelly Furtado - “Maneater”

Maneater

It’s crazy to think that Nelly Furtado released Loose almost 7 years ago because it still sounds as fresh as ever.

The album garnered many hits, including “Promiscuous” and “Say It Right,” but my favourite track has always been “Maneater.”

I watched Nelly perform the song for the first time on Fashion Rocks in 2006, and fell in love with the tune immediately. I hope you like it as much as I do!

Wednesday’s Hit

Eva Simons - “Chemistry”

Chemistry

I have followed Eva Simons closely since “Silly Boy” was mistaken for a Rihanna and Lady GaGa duet. The song was great and I thought it was going to take off like a rocket, but sadly, it did not.

The Dutch dance diva consistently releases, or is featured on, hot tracks, but only experiences success with others (“Take Over Control” with Afrojack and “This Is Love” with will.i.am). That being said, however, I have hope for “Chemistry.” It is easily my favourite single from Eva in a while, so hopefully, it becomes a hit for her.

Turn it up! “Chemistry” is as big as Eva’s hair.

Tuesday’s Hit

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - “Can’t Hold Us” featuring Ray Dalton

Can't Hold Us

"Thrift Shop" is awesome, but it didn’t make me want to listen to The Heist in full. However, after hearing “Can’t Hold Us,” how could I not listen to The Heist in full? I’ll admit that I’m not the biggest hip-hop/rap fan, but Macklemore could easily turn me.

"Can’t Hold Us" may not be new to the world, but it’s new to me and nothing released today is more exciting than this smash.

The song is flawless! I live for the end of the first verse, and when Macklemore says, “And I’m eating at the beat like you gave a little speed to a great white shark on Shark Week. Raw!” and then the music changes—amazing! Open an ear or miss out!

Monday’s Hit

Selena Gomez - “Come & Get It”

Come & Get It

Miley, Selena, Demi, Hilary—you name the Disney girl and her music is one of my guilty pleasures.

"Come & Get It" was released over the weekend, and it has been on repeat-peat-peat-peat-peat-peat since yesterday afternoon.

I don’t like the cover art, but I love the Indian influences and infectious chorus. Check it out!
